PAS 1192-5 provides the environment for proportionate and appropriate security for the management of the security risks that affect a built asset, in whole or in part, asset data and information. This information contains sensitive data regarding the built environment and services and as such is confidential to the building or site.
The requirements of the PAS need to be adopted to meet the unique requirements of each building or site. They provide a framework based on a generic risk management approach which will need to be tailored to produce a built asset security strategy and security management plan. It also introduces the need for a suitably qualified and experienced Built Asset Security Manager to take responsibility for the security of the asset and asset information throughout the asset lifecycle.
