The Gasholders project at Kings Cross, London is a unique luxury residential building, comprising three circular apartment buildings within restored heritage gasholder frames.
We were excited to support King’s Cross Central Limited Partnership and Wilkinson Eyre by providing the security design for these luxury apartments within a unique and challenging structure. King’s Cross Central Limited Partnership appointed us alongside the architect to ensure the design and operation of the building would suit both the circular layout and successfully provide the highest level of residential offering.
We liaised with the local Designing Out Crime Officer, designed the electronic security systems and advised on the layout and operation of communal areas in relation to security. As well as coordinating with the M&E designers on the project, we also closely collaborated with other specialists to support King’s Cross Central Limited Partnership's aspiration for a unified intercom, home automation and concierge offering.
The project is ongoing, and our involvement will remain as we seek to ensure that the building achieves the security requirements of the developer, planners, BREEAM, Code for Sustainable Homes and, of course, future residents.
