London’s Battersea Power Station Development (Phase 2): Luxury apartments, offices and retail space
The Battersea Power Station Development (Phase 2) is the £750m ($1.25bn) restoration of London’s decommissioned power station into 254 luxury apartments. Wilkinson Eyre Architects, one of the leading practices in the UK, led the project to convert the iconic Grade II* listed building into a luxury residential, office and retail space.
The mixture of public and private spaces meant that a robust and adaptable Automated Access Control System (AACS) was required. We proposed designs for an AACS that would only allow those living in, working in or visiting the complex to access areas of the building they were authorised to.
Working in collaboration with the London Metropolitan Police, we adhered closely to the vision of the architects and interior designers when designing a security strategy for the power station, which included incorporating discreet cameras amongst iconic heritage elements that wouldn’t detract from the aesthetic of the property.
