HDM London Park Drive, Wood Wharf

Located adjacent to the South Dock and Bellmouth Passage, this cylindrical 211-metre-high skyscraper is one of three buildings planned for the initial construction phase of Canary Wharf’s residential scheme. It will become the prominent landmark and visual gateway to Wood Wharf.

Designed by Herzog & de Meuron, the residential tower will accommodate a mix of apartments spread over the upper 55 floors; the reception, concierge, lounge, library and cinema are on the ground floor, with the gymnasium, pool and spa on the second.

QCIC was appointed to design a discreet, high-quality security system for the apartments and communal areas, with an underlying requirement of integration with the wider, rigorous Canary Wharf security philosophy and approach.

We designed the electronic security systems, coordinating them with other design streams taking cognisance of the intended look, feel and operation of the communal spaces. In addition, we worked with the architect and the local Police Designing out Crime Officer (DoCO) to meet Secured by Design requirements and will continue to work with Canary Wharf Contractors during the construction of the development to help them achieve building requirements, such as the BREEAM sustainable assessment rating and Code for Sustainable Homes.
