8 Water Street & 10 Park Drive, Wood Wharf

Sited immediately adjacent to the high-end cylindrical tower of HDM London Park Drive, these two sculptural residential buildings, designed by Stanton Williams, exude a sense of calm and wellbeing, in stark contrast to the neighbouring financial district.

Both buildings accommodate a variety of apartment styles, all of which have been designed to maximise the use of natural daylight, as well as provide readily available access to balconies, terraces, a communal “winter garden” and landscaped gardens adjacent to the neighbouring waterfront.

We were appointed to design a discreet, high-level security system for the apartments and communal areas, with an underlying brief of integration with the wider rigorous Canary Wharf security philosophy and approach.

QCIC designed the electronic security systems, coordinating them with other design streams, remaining cognisant of the intended look, feel and operation of the communal spaces. In addition, we worked with the architect and the local Police Designing out Crime Officer (DoCO) to meet Secured by Design requirements. We will continue to work with Canary Wharf Contractors during the construction of the development to assist them in achieving building requirements such as BREEAM sustainability standards and the Code for Sustainable Homes.
